Board Readiness Program Application

Thank you for your interest in the United Way Young Leaders Board Readiness Program (BRP)! 

Before starting your application, please review the BRP Participation Guide & Code of Conduct and the 2027 Board Readiness Program Schedule which outline program expectations, participation requirements, and commitments. 

The application should take approximately 20–30 minutes to complete. Please be prepared to provide: 

  • Personal and professional information, including your contact information, employment details, and educational background. 
  • A brief professional biography (maximum 750 characters).
  • Leadership experience and interests, including your current or previous leadership roles, your perspective on community needs, and what you hope to gain from the program.
  • Two professional references, including each individual's name, employer, title, phone number, and email address. Program representatives will contact your references to request letters of recommendation.
  • A payment method (credit card, debit card, or bank account) for the $25 application fee and applicable transaction fees. 
Please note: Applications must be completed in one sitting. You will not be able to save your progress and return later. 
The $25 application fee is non-refundable and will be applied toward the program's $365 participation commitment.

Before continuing, please review the Board Readiness Program Participation Guide & Code of Conduct and review the 2027 Board Readiness Program Schedule to familiarize yourself with the program's expectations and requirements. You will be asked to acknowledge that you have read and understand these guidelines as part of your application.
